We asked if any other studies have been conducted to support the draft Planning Proposal to be told:
“… Council was also informed by, Bright Future Better Lifestyle – Community Strategic Plan 2030 (2012-2014), Ageing Strategy (2013) and Demographics – Our Community Profile and Demographics.”
We also requested copies of any studies, reports or assessments if used, such as Traffic, Environmental, Development and Social & Economic impact studies:
“No, the Department of Planning & Environment did not request that Council prepare any further studies prior to issuing the Gateway Determination to exhibit the Planning Proposal.”
March 20, 2015:
The United Kogarah City Residents Association wrote to Kogarah City Council and each Councillor, on March 12, 2015, calling for improved notification of the public exhibition of the Draft LEP, and increased public participation by way of public forums being held by Kogarah Council.
We received this reply from the Mayor, Clr. Michael Platt, March 20, 2015:
“Council is not proposing to host any public forums during the exhibition period. Council officers will be available to discuss the New City Plan and associated documents, through the New City Plan enquiry line or by appointment or by visiting the Customer Service Centre.”
