Update: 11 February 2016 – Current status of the New City Plan
The New City Plan is still in draft form and the final report has not yet been presented to Council for consideration.
As you may be aware, a proposed merger between Kogarah City Council and Hurstville City Council is being considered as part of the ‘Fit for the Future’ Local Government reform process. During this merger proposal period, Council must operate in ‘caretaker mode’. Council officers are awaiting clarification from the Office of Local Government regarding Council’s ability to proceed with the New City Plan during this period.
Following this clarification, a report will be presented to Council for consideration of the New City Plan.
