Residents rise up against high-rise at Kogarah meeting Sunday | St George & Sutherland Shire Leader
By Maria Galinovic, May 18, 2015
More than 200 people packed Kogarah School of Arts on Sunday, May 17, to hear more about the New City plan proposal by Kogarah Council.
The plan shows increased density in areas of Kogarah to meet population growth projections but objectors see it as gross overdevelopment.
People listened for two hours to members of kogarah.org — a group formed specifically to fight the plan — and other residents including Kogarah MP Chris Minns.
The aim was to educate more people into standing up against unwanted overdevelopment.
Another meeting is scheduled at 3pm for Saturday, May 23, at St Mark’s hall, South Hurstville.
See more in Thursday’s Leader.
